He married Almira Johnson April 14, 1820, by whom he had eight children, viz: Maria, who died March 14, 1849, Asa, born August 15, 1822, Elizabeth, widow of Oliver P. Chaffee, Lucinda, widow of Hiram Shays, of Owego, Clarissa, wife of A. J. Stanton, and Levi, of Bradford County, Pa., Jonas who drowned September 4, 1852, and Almira, wife of David Smead of Owego.      David Stanton West was born on 24 August 1787.2,1 He was the son of Jerusha Stanton. David Stanton West was baptized on 6 July 1806 at New London, Conn.2 He married Keziah Brumley Stanton, daughter of Jason Stanton and Kezia Brumley, on 2 February 1812 at home of Col. Asa Stanton, Canaan, Penn.2 David Stanton West died on 28 January 1868 at age 80.2,1 He was buried at Wayne County, Pennsylvania, USA.1
     He A Baptist and a farmer. David was educated and made a special study of higher mathematics, navigation, and surveying. FRom 1810 he was agent for the sale of lands in the vicinity of Canaan for Phildephia grantors, who had acquired titles to the land through loans of money to finance the Revolutionary War. His mathematical training brought him the business of surveying most of the farms in this vicinity. He laid out and named the town of Waymart, and did much surveying for the D & H Company. For many years he served as Justice of the Peace, and as Associate Judge of the county. Although not a doctor he was in great demand for his medical services. He lived in October 1808.2,3 He lived in 1810.2,4
