Earl Wilmot Stanton1

M, b. circa 1882
Earl Wilmot Stanton was born circa 1882.1 He was the son of Joseph Andrew Stanton and Melvina Fanning Guild.
Earl Wilmot Stanton After a week of cruel suspense Troy again has two hotel liquor licenses and can slake its thirsty soul in the brimming beakers of ice cold bitterness and the amber liquid that biteth like a serpent and stingeth like an adder. Licenses were granted to Earl Stanton of the Troy House and Sam Welch of Hotel Welch. During the awful week that Troy was a dry town, there was an extensive business transacted inlivery rigs for a drive 'up to the Columbia Cross Roads.' We had a number of visiters in Canton, too. Before the week was out, everybody in the 'half-shire' town was singing the following ditty: 'It's a long, long way to Columbia Cross Roads, it's a long way to go. It's a long way to the Cross Roads, to the nearest bar we know. Farewell Mr. Sam Welch, goodbye Mr. Stanton, we'll go up to the Cross Roads, or over to Canton' -- Canton Independent Sentinel, 1915 (80 year old items.) He lived in 1936 at Newark, Essex, New Jersey, USA.
